New Year's Weekend - Top Hats and Tails Gala Ball: December 31 - January 1

OK ladies - grab your tails!  Guys - grab her tail, too, and come on out to Live Oak Resort for our New Year's Eve Top Hats and Tails Gala Ball.  Club Larry will be open on New Years Eve for our ball, where we'll be serving endless hors d'oeuvres that you can wash down with a drink from our champagne fountain.  Beforehand, plan your dinner at Bare Delites where a delicious Prime Rib Dinner will be served from 5:00pm - 7:30pm with all the fixings for only $12.99!  Better yet, spend the entire weekend from Thursday through Sunday at Live Oak.  Bare Delites will be open for breakfast only, Friday, Saturday and Sunday!  We'll also be partying at the club not just Thursday night, but on Friday and Saturday nights too!  So plan for a fun-filled weekend where you can let your inhibitions run wild!  A special event fee of $75 applies to this weekend - per couple or single.  Make your reservations now by clicking here or calling us at 936-878-2216

The Bold and the Chiliful Cookoff: January 22 - 24

Our annual Chili Cook-off takes on a twist this year.  Contest rules have changed.  We'll still have 2 categories of judging, and you can bring it here or cook it here, and still carry it into the Pavilion in your own container.  However, judges will be served in plain LOR-supplied bowls "behind the curtain."  The blind judging will ensure entries are judged on merit of the product, and not solely presentation.  Also, we've implemented a $5 entry fee that will be generously given to a local charity.  Judging will be held Saturday afternoon, January 23rd in our spacious Pavilion. Chili judging commences at 3:00 pm, so get yourselves prepared to taste some spicy recipes. The rules are very simple. Cook enough for everyone to have a taste and have fun! Again, one winner from each category - beans, and no beans, will be awarded with the "El Jefe de Chili" moniker for a full year. Come and enjoy Saturday afternoon, then dance those Mexican Jumping Beans out of you Saturday night in Club Larry!

2010 Calendar of Events Being Finalized!

Based on many of your ideas, we've come up with some new events and kept those which you've told us you love.  The calendar for 2010 is being finalized and will be published in early December - with time for you to set aside all those weekends to come to Live Oak Resort.  Standby for some real hot weekends!

New Addition Announced for Live Oak Resort!

We're building a new social hall!  Starting in the near future, a new social hall will be built on the site of the existing basketball court.  Meanwhile, Bare Delites will be modified as a temporary 24/7 social hall, housing Texas Hold 'em tables, Dominos, a wide screen TV and more.  Standby for more information coming shortly!!!
