If you were at our PJ Party, you'd know what the heck a monkey had to
do with it. Suffice it to say that a few party-goers enjoyed
playing with monkeys on November 15!!!
The weekend started with a campfire Friday night by the pavilion
where we roasted our butts and s'mores. So how do you like your
marshmallows toasted? It was followed by a hayride that took us
around the greater Washington, TX area. Thanks to Larry's
"doughnut turns" the hayride lasted a good hour, allowing us to get
pretty cozy with one another as we looked at a clear star-studded
night's sky. After mooning every single car that passed us, we
headed back for a damn good Thanksgiving buffet. Creativity
reigned supreme - where guests, residents and our staff supplied the
buffet table with everything from mouth-watering stuffed mushrooms, to
"inventive" animal crackers topped with cheddar cheez-wiz (which really
was pretty good!). After filling ourselves on turkey, ham, 27,000
side dishes, and desserts that were almost as sweet as our guests'
smiles, we headed off for a good night's sleep.
Saturday was a total delight at Live Oak Resort. It seems that
we're shielded from the weather forecasters' negative outlooks.
Both Saturday AND Sunday were hot and sunny - and we baked in the sun by
our pool. It was heated, but heck, it probably wasn't necessary,
as the sun warmed it up for us.
Saturday night, we had a great time at the PJ Party, where Larry spun
an assortment of CDs, including the author's favorite blues man's songs
- Stevie Ray Vaughan. A very interesting assortment of PJs were on
display, from erotic to flannel. Well, at least at first the PJs
were on display - but for some strange reason, most of the PJs
disappeared by midnight! Hmmm...
Take a look at some of our guests, as they partied the night:
Next grandiose dress-up event scheduled for Club Larry is our
Santa's Helpers Dance, on December 13th. Don't forget,
though, that Club Larry is opened EVERY Saturday night, so see you there
next weekend!!! (just no need to wear a "costume").
