We Love Volleyball!!!
Due to the warm climate, volleyball is played year-round on our sand
court during weekends, holidays and special events. If the weather
permits, expect to see players on the court from morning until night.
Visitors are always welcome to cheer us on. In fact, many visitors
compliment the friendliness of the players and the level of play at Live
Oak Resort.
Between the court and the pool, spectators line the inclined grassy area
for a great view of the competition. The other side of the court
is shaded by large live oak trees with a wood deck that runs its entire
length.
   
One of the most treasured amenities, especially during summer months,
is the very cool, well-water shower, is located conveniently next to the
courts. With an extra large shower head, players are immediately
refreshed as cool water engulfs them, providing a recharge of their
batteries for the next game.

Some Live Oak members are very dedicated to
volleyball. Players range in level, size, age, gender and
profession. These members strive to play and teach others to play
three-hit volleyball under the rules of the
United States Volleyball Association (USVBA). This encourages
competitive play without injuries, while making the game more
enjoyable. |

 Every year since 1990, Live Oak has
fielded at least one team at the
Volleyball Superbowl. This tournament is the largest nude
volleyball tournament in the USA.
White Thorn Lodge in Pennsylvania has hosted the Volleyball
Superbowl every year since 1971 on the weekend after Labor Day. Each
year, over 90 teams participate. Competition includes Men's AA, A
and B classes, Women's AA, A and B classes, and mixed Novice teams.
Since no AANR or
USVBA cards are necessary to enter the tournament, players
include both nudists and non-nudists from all over the world.Live
Oak holds its own tournaments on Memorial Day Weekend, July 4th
Weekend, Labor Day Weekend, and other special dates. These
tournaments normally include formats of six-person fun-ball and
four-person USVBA. But don't wait for a holiday weekend to
come out and play.

Formerly attached to Club Larry, once the
club expanded, our clubhouse moved temporarily to two locations.
Weights can be found close to our stage, and Bare Delites houses tables
and chairs for our ever-popular card games. Stay tuned, as you
never know! With the way Live Oak is growing, you may see
something pop up before you know it! |
